Right now I’m in my third year at McGill double majoring in Environment and International Development Studies. I’ve worked with several different activist groups on campus but my major focus has been on an anti-bottled water campaign with TAPthirst. My interest in water issues is driven in large part by my childhood in Thunder Bay, growing up on the shores of Lake Superior. While overseas with Canada World Youth I worked with the Assin Fosu District Assembly Community Water and Sanitation Board. Coming into direct contact with issues of limited water access and poor infrastructure, I was inspired to learn about water issues and their impact in my own community. I’m an avid outdoors-person and love to spend my time travelling, reading, and relaxing in a canoe.

Je suis en ce moment dans ma troisième année d’une double majeure en Environnement et Étude du Développement International à McGill. J’ai travaillé avec différents groupes militants sur le campus, mais mon accent premier a été avec une campagne contre les bouteilles d’eau avec TAPthirst. Mon intérêt dans les problèmes hydrologiques vient en grande partie de mon enfance à Thunder Bay, grandissant sur les rives du Lac Supérieur. À l’étranger, avec Jeunnesse Canada Monde, j’ai travaillé avec l’Assemblé d’Eau Communautaire et le Bureau de l’Assainissement du District de Assin Fosu. À travers mon contact avec des problèmes d’accès d’eau et une mauvaise infrastructure j’ai été inspiré d’apprendre plus sur les problèmes hydrologiques et leurs impacts sur ma communauté. Je suis une personne avide des grands espaces et j’aime passer le temps en voyageant, lisant et relaxant dans un canoë.

I am in my third year of a BA&Sc. degree at the McGill School of Environment with a focus on water (surprise!). Growing up in the beautiful mountains of Nelson, B.C. gave me a love for the great outdoors and sparked my interest in environmental issues. I am incredibly fortunate to have travelled twice to the Canadian Arctic, first as a participant and then as a staff member with Students On Ice. A year spent living in Bolivia opened my eyes to issues of inequity of access to freshwater and water privatization. I’ve been involved in various campus-based environmental initiatives at McGill, most recently with TAPthirst. I love playing violin, backpacking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and general adventuring!

Je suis dans ma troisième année d’un baccalauréat en art et sciences dans l’École d’Environnement de McGill avec une concentration en eau (quelle surprise!). Grandir dans les belles montagnes de Nelson, C.-B. me donna un amour des grands espaces et a éveillé mon intérêt pour les problèmes environnementaux. Je suis incroyable chanceuse d’avoir pu allée deux fois dans l’arctique Canadien, la première fois en tant que participante et ensuite en tant qu’employée de Students On Ice. Vivre une année en Bolivie à ouvert mes yeux aux problèmes d’inégalité de l’accès à l’eau et de la privatisation de l’eau. J’ai été impliqué dans diverses initiatives environnementales basées au campus de McGill, plus récemment avec TAPthirst. J’aime jouer du violon, faire du tourisme pédestre, de l’équitation, du ski de fond et les aventures en général!
